History

Established in 2008.
Chat N Chew goes all the way back to the early seventies when our mother owned a restaurant called Sam & Lee's BBQ on east Brundage. All of us kids worked there after school to help our mother run the place. Even back then we had the best bbq ribs in town and not to mention our knock'em dead tacos WOW!!

  By far not only the best BBQ in Bakersfield but also one of the best food spots in town. I always get the meatloaf and Ribs!!! The ribs are the best I've had on this side of the Rockies. Also the owners Geary and Manny along with their staff are excellent at customer service. I feel at home with them every time I go. I highly recommend this establishment!!!

  A must go to spot... Must say i am very glad to see a place like this finally hit the town. Had the sea food combo amd the red snapper was on point. Mac and cheese was great, and customer service was A1. Im not one that usually leaves comments, but the food Is awesome and interaction with customers is terrific... Great job ...

  They call it comfort food. It's small but comfortable. They have a nice banquet room u can rent. I got the fried chicken and waffles. It is the best fried chicken I ever at. Remind me of my wife's grandmother's cooking. My wife got the gimbo0 and fried catfish and came with cornbread. We loved it. Can't wait to go back. Very friendly christian owners!! Plus they have gospel bands come in and play music. I would recommend this place. I know you will enjoy it.
